OS X Lion: First impressions
- Installing Lion on my MacBook Air (secondary computer) from the Mac App Store was surprisingly fast and painless. It took a lot less time than going to the Apple store and buying a disc.
- The upside-down scrolling is very disorienting. The first few minutes were dizzying. Now it just feels foreign, the way I’d imagine it’s like visiting Bulgaria, where nodding your head means “no” and shaking it side-to-side means “yes.”
- Apps that don’t support the rubber band effect when you’re scrolling and hit the edge of a window feel awkward. Chrome, I’m looking at you. It reminds me of abrupt scrolling on an Android phone.
Anyway, so far, so good. Everything seems to work. More as I spend more time with it.
