Sprint ditches plans for a 4G BlackBerry PlayBook

Greg Bensinger, reporting for the Wall Street Journal:

Sprint had said in January it would sell a version of the PlayBook as soon as this summer that would run on its fourth-generation or 4G network. The carrier said this week that those plans had been halted because the market for tablets has became too crowded.

Because the market for tablets is too crowded? Or because nobody wants to buy the PlayBook — especially from a wireless carrier?
