Thanks to this week’s sponsor, Microsoft

Microsoft’s latest push, you may have seen, is to make the Xbox 360 more useful as a video streaming device, not just as a game console. Today, they just rolled out another bunch of video apps, including YouTube and a Verizon FiOS app, which FiOS subscribers can use to stream several channels of live video. And if you have an Xbox 360 with Kinect, you can control the new video apps with your voice and hand gestures.

It’s clear we’re only in the very early stages of the digital living room, but some of this stuff already feels like the future.

In addition to this sponsorship, I have served as a consultant to Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business. For more information about sponsoring SplatF or my very selective consulting availability, get in touch.
